New User Guide
If you are reading this, you should have been given the OK from me
(Edward_K) to proceed.
This guide is outdated, please contact Edward_K for the new link
Your bittorrent statistics page is usually located at
http://channelname.edwardk.info Other arrangements can be made when
possible.
If you have opted to have additional webhosting, your url is usually,
http://channelname.edwardk.info and the BitTorrent page at
http://channelname.edwardk.info/BitTorrent
You will be asked already for FTP User and Password information.
The FTP Host is usually yourchannelname.edwardk.info port 990 Implicit SSL Only
When you log in, you will see 2 folders, /www and /BitTorrent
If you have additional webhosting, the BitTorrent page is at
/www/bittorrent instead
index.php is the page itself which can be modified to your content.
To add a torrent file, create it with the announce url as:
http://bt.edwardk.info:6969/announce
Update:
This tracker now runs on the following ports: 6969, 2710, 541, 942, 4040, 6767, 12891, 63124 and a special port 80 version (SEE EXAMPLE OR DIE)
For all future torrents, please use them.
A multi-tracker torrent can be used to have all the ports in the same torrent.
See here as an example with Azureus. This change is for combating ISPs which block port 6969 or 2710.
If you have trouble, DreadWingKnight has created a program to modify a torrent to use the announce URLs required,
you may get it from here.
To use, unrar and drag the torrent in to the exe.
Piece size should never be below 64kB
I recommend using 256kB
Login to the FTP and upload it to /BitTorrent and to the folder where
the bittorrent page is located. (/www or /www/bittorrent)
There can be a delay of up to 2 minutes before the file will be
recognized. After it is recognized, the file needs to be seeded before
it will appear on the webpage.
You can upload a file to only /BitTorrent if you want to use the
torrent, but not have it appear on the webpage. (Eg if you want to
coordinate your seeders before a release)
To remove a torrent, simply remove the file from your /www or
/www/bittorrent folder.
